Short project summary The Swedish experts will visit Turkey and meet an NGO The Collective Impact Program Association active in Izmir and in the region. During 10 days the Swedish experts will introduce tools and methods to tackle gender issues, share experiences and knowledge on the topic of gender identity and questions relating to representation across cultures. The goal is to empower Turkish colleagues and contribute with knowledge to the gender debate. The project includes filed trip of the Turkish colleagues, networking and workshops.

Main project activities 2 study visits, 2 online workshops, networking and 2 public presentations incl. 2 workshops.

The target group will consist of 12 changemakers who will participate in our workshops, from various sectors including civil initiatives, designers, NGOs, cooperatives, and representatives from the textile and apparel industry in Izmir, Turkey. They are dedicated to promoting gender equity, sustainable and ethical fashion, and the textile industry. These individuals play a direct and influential role in supporting socially and economically disadvantaged women within their respective institutions. We will also invite journalists and media to our discussions. The involvement of changemakers in the project will be organised by KEP NGO and outreach will be initiated via social media platforms, local government channels, and
civil society-oriented news platforms. The project’s digital poster and description will be disseminated through these channels to maximize visibility. To facilitate the selection process, an application form will be crafted, encompassing crucial criteria such as commitment availability, experience in working with disadvantaged women, and general motivation to contribute to the project’s objectives. The selection process will be transparent and thorough, with a panel evaluating applications to identify changemakers aligned with the project’s goals. Diversity and inclusivity will be prioritized in the selection to ensure a cohort that reflects the community’s varied perspectives.

The final presentation will take place at Artten Gallery during Stockholm Craft week 2024 (2-8 October) bringing together artisans and artists.
