Bake for Peace Day
On November 30th, Artten Gallery launched Bake for Peace Day. We invited Ukrainian families who, due to economic circumstances, often miss out on creative activities. This barrier prevents their participation in the national Christmas festivity — the Pepparkakshus event at ArkDes Museum.
We also believe that now is not the time to compete over whose pepparkakshus is the best — it is a time to bake together and unite in our shared desire for peace.
Based on this, we proudly provided unique opportunities to Ukrainian families in collaboration with the NGO Artten Foundation.
VERNISSAGE for collective art production
Many people joined us to celebrate collective creativity and a shared longing for peace, expressed through an innovative pepparkaksinstallation with audiovisual effects on December, 1st. The presentation was hold by our creative directors Ludmila Christeseva and Oksana Soboleva.
About
The gingerbread house, or pepparkakshus, is a cherished Swedish tradition, widely crafted during Advent as part of the Christmas celebration. Expressed through various forms and decorations, this activity brings families together to create magical houses, share stories, and forge lasting memories. It embodies the spirit of togetherness while celebrating the joy of the winter holidays and the promise of a new beginning.
Each year, Swedish museums honor this national creative tradition through exhibitions and competitions, including those hosted by ArkDes in Stockholm.
