Armémuseum: Lecture: 80 Years Since Victory Day

Join artist Ludmila Christeseva on May 8 at 1 PM as she presents a powerful artistic collaboration with Ukrainian women— Roses of Ties.

On May 8, 1945, World War II came to an end in Europe. Today, war has returned—this time in Ukraine. In response, artist Ludmila Christeseva and a group of Ukrainian women have turned collective grief into creation, crafting new forms of art and fashion in the absence of fathers, sons, and husbands.

Men’s ties have been transformed into delicate roses—soft, symbolic, and worn close to the heart. These handcrafted flowers speak of love, longing, and resilience, bringing people together across borders and through sorrow.
