In my yoga studio, there is a small liminal space between the practice room and the street. Framed by glass on both sides, it exists somewhere between arrival and departure. People pass through it every day on their way in and out.
No one stops there.
But what if you do?
There is a single chair. It is quiet, cosy, and somehow detached from the rush of the day.
I decided to place one of my paintings there, so that others might also pause in this unexpected place and encounter a painting.
In The Sky Over uses colour as a source of healing and energy.
My art is not about looking.
It is about travelling … inward.
The painting becomes a destination rather than an object – a place where the mind can wander, rest, and begin again.
At one moment it is an empty page. At the next, its branches carry you beyond the horizon.
The work changes with the light, the weather, the sounds around it, and the state of the viewer.
No two encounters are the same.
The painting remains. You change.
Take a seat.
A minute is all it takes to leave.
A moment is all it takes to return.
Close your eyes.
Breathe.
When you are ready, open them again.
It is another day.
A blank page.
And enormous possibilities.
