This year marks the 20th anniversary of one of my iconic paintings – The Sky over….
Twenty years ago, I could never have imagined that I would return to this work through new formats, new audiences, and new conversations.
These twenty years have taught me that art is not about canvas and paint. There is never enough space within a frame to express the emptiness of losing one’s homeland.
Art is a lifelong journey. It cannot be measured by the distance between the wall where an artwork hangs and the viewer.
